About the Opportunity

Interrelate has an exciting opportunity for a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join their team as the Centre Manager, in Taree, NSW on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall performance of all facets within the Family Relationship Centre to provide effective and efficient service delivery within the Centre.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Providing a high level of leadership to the Family Relationship Counselling team, the Aboriginal Liaison Worker, and the Family Law Pathways Networker, including service planning, promotional activities, reporting, team building and development, and conflict management;
  • Providing consistent service delivery through case management;
  • Program management, including monitoring program effectiveness, ensuring practitioner welfare and participating in program review;
  • Managing resources such as budgets, equipment, and assets; and
  • Staff management duties including recruitment and performance management.

The successful candidate will be accredited as an Family Dispute and Relationship Practitioner with the Attorney General’s department with relevant tertiary qualifications in behavioral, social sciences, mediation or family law, alongside demonstrated professional experience in dispute resolution work with families, including children.

You’ll have a sound understanding of the Family Support Program sector alongside a proven knowledge of child development, protection, mandatory reporting, suicide prevention/intervention and family violence issues. Your in-depth knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 and other Federal and State legislations will ensure you have a strong commitment to working in the best interests of children protected within this act.

As this is a management role, you will need to have demonstrated experience in leading staff, alongside experience in coordinating not-for-profit services. You’ll need to be culturally sensitive, with the ability to effectively liaise with the local Aboriginal community.

Life experience is valued very strongly at Interrelate, with candidates who have a broad range of experiences within the industry being viewed very highly. Additionally, candidates with connections within the local community including local agencies and stakeholders will be held in high regard.

There is a requirement for weekly travel between Taree & Port Macquarie, with staff supervision to be delivered in both locations.

Please note: Successful candidates must have a current driver’s licence, a Working With Children Clearance Check, and be willing to undergo a National Police Check.
