About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son have an opportunity for an Administration and Design Support Officer to join their National Publishing Service (NPS) team on a full-time basis, in Alexandria, Sydney.

Reporting to the NPS Manager, you’ll be working as part of a close knit team, and will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support, managing communications via phone and email, alongside completing quality finishing, packaging, and shipping of products, to ensure timely and efficient service.

Some of your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

• Managing all communications and administration functions for the NPS department;
• Contributing to the quality and timely finishing of all NPS products, including all production, packaging, and shipping requirements;
• Responding to information requests received via phone, email, and face to face;
• Managing the upkeep of the “Booking In Sheet” and the completion of order request forms;
• Liaising with desktop publishers to ensure products are finished prior to agreed deadlines; and
• Updating and maintaining workflow statistics and providing data entry support.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate of either a design or publishing course, who is ready to take the first step in their career. Bringing exceptional administration skills and a knack for all things design, you’ll be well-equipped to step into this highly varied role and provide an unrivalled level of design and administration support to the NPS department.

Strong computer literacy, coupled with the ability to use all programs within the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, will see you flourish within this position. A personable, “can-do” attitude will be key to acting as the face of this department, as you process orders and respond to queries from your colleagues on a national scale.

Applying your keen eye for detail, strong time management, and organisational skills, you’ll be confident in creating high quality finished products, whilst adhering to tight deadlines. Most importantly, you’ll display eager initiative throughout your work, with the drive to constantly expand your skills and experiences within this role.
