You’re an experienced fundraising professional with a proven track record of success in establishing strong, philanthropic relationships with Trusts and Foundations. Your communication and interpersonal skills are second to none, meaning you liaise with key stakeholders in a professional, welcoming manner. In addition, strong written communication will see you writing and winning impact funding grants with ease.

You’ll be confident in achieving income growth targets within set timeframes, managing competing priorities and working well under pressure. Above all, you’ll be motivated to constantly meeting and exceeding your goals, with a passion for the contributions you make to the work the Lung Foundation does.

About the Opportunity

Lung Foundation Australia has a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Fundraising Officer (Grants, Trusts & Foundations) to join their team in their Sydney CBD office (or work from home). 

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will primarily be responsible for sourcing funding through national trusts and foundations and cultivating philanthropic relationships with key granting bodies, in order to source funding that supports the mission and work of the Lung Foundation Australia and Lungs for Life joint research.

More specifically, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supporting the Fundraising Manager in implementing and coordinating all key organisational activities related to philanthropic fundraising;
  • Developing a database of relevant national philanthropic granting bodies including Trusts & Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds;
  • Developing, implementing, and managing a strategy for approaching Trusts and Foundations;
  • Persuasively communicating the organisation's and programmes mission to potential funders;
  • Coordinating meetings between the research program committee, subject matter experts and the philanthropic bodies;
  • Assisting with the preparation of funding proposals and supporting materials; and
  • Contributing as needed to the overall fundraising objectives.
