About the Opportunity

Jamberoo Action Park is looking to welcome a Retail Manager to the team, working on a full-time basis in Jamberoo, NSW.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this exciting role will see you managing the daily operations and strategic direction of all admissions functions and retail outlets. This will involve staff training and development, management of outlet security systems, purchasing and management of all retail stock, and reporting on the overall financial performance of each outlet. As the Park is open seasonally for 8 months (and closed over Winter), your duties will be focused on staff and outlet management during open season, and planning and reporting during Winter.
Specific duties will include:
- Establishing seasonal sales forecasts and strategies, analysing sales performance, and reporting this information alongside spending and wage percentages back to the Executive Director;
- Implementing and developing sales techniques in consultation with the Executive and Marketing Directors, constantly reviewing your approach to reflect current market trends and the operational requirements of the business;
- Liaising with suppliers to source new products;
- Directing visual merchandising and product placement in each outlet;
- Training, developing, and reviewing staff; and
- Monitoring security systems, enforcing money-handling control measures, and investigating loss-prevention methods.
This highly varied role calls for an experienced manager who is confident and motivated to put their ideas forward and lead a great team.
Qualifications in Retail Management and/or extensive experience managing within a Retail environment will be essential, with documented success in training and developing staff, and proven awareness of industry trends and merchandising techniques. Your experience should also include an advanced level of visual merchandising and product placement, and familiarity with stock management databases and reporting software.
