About the Organisation

Sigma Aerospace; a leading aerospace Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) based in Tamworth, New South Wales, is entering a new phase. They have just been named as the winning bidder to conduct C-check heavy maintenance on Dash 8-200 and 300 “classic” aircraft in Tamworth, NSW.

Sigma Aerospace is a diverse organisation supporting airlines (regional through to international operators) as well as commercial and private customers by way of its direct maintenance services (including engine, airframe, avionics and structural repairs), worldwide contract engineering services and inventory management.

Additionally, Sigma Aerospace operates a turbine engine overhaul shop (Honeywell Major Service Centre), a state of the art composite repair facility and an aircraft instrument overhaul facility. About the Opportunities

Having just been named as the winning bidder to conduct C-check heavy maintenance on Dash 8 200-300 “classic” aircraft in Tamworth, NSW, Sigma has a requirement for several roles to undertake this exciting 18-month project commencing in April.

They are looking to fill the following roles:

  • B1/B2 LAMEs;
  • Mechanical AMEs;
  • Structural AMEs; and
  • Avionics AMEs.

The successful B1/B2 LAME candidates will be responsible for ‘certifying’ DHC 8 300 aircraft maintenance. LAMEs require a DHC 8 classic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license. As a LAME, you will preferably have at least 10 years experience and be interested in further career advancement opportunities within Sigma Aerospace.

Candidates for the AME positions will have extensive relevant experience in either mechanical, avionic or structure Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, with skills in both routine and emergency tasks. AMEs with DHC 8 experience will be highly regarded and those with Group 20 turboprop aircraft experience will also be considered.

For all of the above roles, the ideal candidates will enjoy technical and engineering activities and be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights on platforms around aircrafts.

Successful applicants will also possess strong communication skills with the ability to lead and take responsibility for a team. In order to complete technical maintenance tasks, you will also need to be medically fit, with good hearing, vision and hand-eye-coordination.
