About the Opportunity
Are you a trade qualified baker ready to step into a leadership role and take your career to the next level?
Due to it's continuing success and growth, Yeast2West now has an exciting opportunity for a Bakery Manager to lead their team based in Longreach, QLD, on a full time basis.
Reporting to the Owner/ Director, you will be responsible for running the bakery front and back of house, whilst also maintaining food quality standards, ensuring profitability and creating growth.
More specifically, your duties will include;
- Maintaining outstanding customer service standards, as well as merchandising and presentation quality standards;
- Managing, coaching and developing a small team in the daily duties of the store;
- Maintaining the store's established food safety procedures and OH&S Standards;
- Baking and producing stock to production schedules;
- Ensuring all products put on display meet established standards of quality;
- Managing, monitoring and controlling stock levels as per business needs; and
- Recommending, managing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for production staff;
To be considered for this position, you will possess a baker/ pastry chef trade certificate, as well as previous experience with demonstrated success in a similar role. In addition to your formal qualifications you will also be bringing a sound knowledge of artisan bread and pastry, as Yeast2West bakery rarely uses any additives, preservatives, dough conditioners or oils.
As you will be supervising two apprentices in addition to a rotating roster of onsite staff, this role requires a mature minded person with strong leadership skills and previous experience in a management role. You will be an influential, approachable and hands on leader who is open to manage and direct staff in a friendly and constructive manner. You will also be responsible for baking and product production in addition to your management and administrative duties.
