As the recognised native title service body for the southern Gulf region, the CLCAC performs statutory functions in accordance with the provisions of the Native Title Act 1993.

About the Opportunity

The CLCAC currently supports three Prescribed Body Corporates (PBC) in the region, however with sizeable areas of remaining land in the Gulf being subject to native title claims lodged with the assistance of the CLCAC, the number of PBCs supported by the CLCAC is likely to increase in the coming years.

As a result of this growth, CLCAC is now seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join their Corporate Services Unit supporting their Native Title Project based in Cairns, on a full-time basis. This role may also require infrequent travel to the Gulf region.

In this varied and interesting role, you will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the Native Title Services Officer, the PBC and Economic Development Officer, and the CLCAC Corporate Services Manager.

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Providing assistance with organisation of meetings, workshops and functions;
  • Coordinating travel and accommodation;
  • Maintaining CLCAC's photo library, Flickr account, website and Facebook page;
  • Assisting the Corporate Services Manager with the development and maintenance of the CLCAC's IT Assets Register and IT helpdesk; and
  • Providing assistance to the Native Title Services Officer and PBC and Economic Development Officer with native title and PBC related matters.

To be successful in this position you must have proven experience in a similar administrative role, including experience in the organisation of workshops and functions, and travel logistics for attendees. You will be proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher, and ideally have experience using MYOB or similar.

CLCAC is looking for someone with demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet impending deadlines, whilst still maintaining strong attention to detail.

Most importantly, you will be a personable, driven and enthusiastic individual who possesses excellent communication skills and the willingness and ability to communicate with Indigenous people, managers and key stakeholders.

About the Benefits

This is a truly unique opportunity with fantastic job satisfaction, as you make a difference to the community every day.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will enjoy an attractive salary (commensurate with skills and experience) as well as salary sacrifice options to significantly increase your take-home pay!

In addition, you will also receive generous leave entitlements including 5 weeks annual leave and 10 days personal leave.
