Roper Gulf Regional Council (RGRC) has a newly created opportunity for a Veterinarian to join the team on a full-time, fixed term contract. This role will be based in Katherine, Northern Territory.
Reporting to the Director of Council and Community Services, you will be responsible for providing a high level of veterinary services and surgical procedures to companion animals in Council’s remote towns, with the focus on improving health and reducing the population of companion animals in the home and at large.

To be considered, you must have relevant Veterinary qualifications and experience, with the ability to deliver veterinary services in remote and regional towns. It is also essential that you possess good animal handling skills and the ability to gain NT authorisation to store and administer Schedule 7 Dangerous Poisons.
This is a newly created role and as such, Roper Gulf Regional Council is seeking a passionate Veterinarian who wants to make a real difference in the health outcomes of animals in rural and remote towns. You will also be interested in and enthusiastic about developing processes for the improvement of the veterinary services in the region, well into the future.
A current 'C' class driver's licence is essential to be considered for this position. You will also be required to undertake a criminal history check and update each year as required. Please note, some out of hours work, including regular travel to remote communities requiring overnight stays, will be required.
Although this role would ideally suit an individual with prior veterinary experience, graduates are also encouraged to apply.
