About the Organisation

The Wheatbelt GP Network is a NFP regional leader in primary health care delivery across the Wheatbelt region of WA. The Network is a progressive service provider that works with health professionals, hospitals, three levels of government, local agencies and community members to deliver integrated, evidence-based, multidisciplinary primary health care. 

The Network supplies GP, nursing, physiotherapy, dietetics, diabetic education, Aboriginal health, counselling, psychology, ultrasound, pathology collection and support services. Services are delivered from 5 sites, as well as through outreach services. The Wheatbelt Health Centre (WHC) is a modern facility built in partnership with the Commonwealth under the super clinic's program and is the flagship facility for the Network. Whilst there may be work across a range of locations the majority of the work will focus on areas that are hard to reach and maybe anywhere in the Wheatbelt region.

About the Opportunity

Wheatbelt GP Network has a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Psychologist to join their dynamic team on a full-time basis. With the requirement for travelling to remote regions, you will provide focused psychological strategies to clients referred to the organisation under ATAPS and MHSRRA programs.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Assessing clients’ presenting clinical issues and support needs and identifying appropriate matching models of service delivery;
  • Providing case management and planning for individuals/families with complex problems or who require assistance in accessing appropriate services;
  • Delivering risk assessments in relation to support needs and behaviour;
  • Maintaining accurate and timely administrative record keeping in regards to case notes and patient records; and
  • Assisting in continually improving the clinical governance framework of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology and unconditional registration with AHPRA, alongside demonstrated experience in delivering psychology services.

To ensure your success, you will have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, excellent written and verbal communication, proficient use of a range of evidence-based interventions, and demonstrated skills and experience in clinical assessments and treatment of presentations. A demonstrated level of skill and experience with working with children, adolescents and adults is desirable, however not necessary. The organisation provides for external supervision as well as professional development, so this role may suit a recent graduate who wants to immerse themselves in evidence-based psychology with the backing of an experienced management and clinical team. 

Most importantly, you will be a passionate, dedicated and driven practitioner, with a "can-do" attitude.

Please note: A current driver's licence and ability to acquire a Working with Children Check and a Police Clearance is essential to this role.
