About the Opportunity

Due to growth in the organisation, Myuma Group has an important opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join their hard working team on a full-time basis, to be based in Mount Isa, Queensland.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of effective human resources frameworks, policies and procedures. This will ensure the Myuma Groups’ ability to attract, retain, develop and manage a highly engaged and committed work force through the provision of systematic, coordinated services across each Company. 

More specifically, some of your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Providing leadership and management of the HR Department;
  • Developing all employment contracts in accordance with relevant awards and legislation;
  • Ensuring all training and professional development within the organisation is strategically linked to organisational needs; and
  • Liaising with internal and external clients of the Myuma Group and provide advice and guidance concerning any investigation of complaints. 

The successful applicant will be an HR generalist, with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related tertiary qualifications combined with extensive HR experience. You'll understand the structure of different HR strategies and systems, and have a comprehensive understanding of HR related legislation, award interpretation and best practice HR knowledge

You'll be working with a multidisciplinary team, so you'll require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to enable you to develop effective working relationships with all staff, as well as with external stakeholders. This role will suit an analytical, strategic and highly organised person, who can adapt their knowledge to new situations, and is looking to work with an organisation that makes a real difference.

Furthermore, you'll need to be adaptable and forward-thinking and possess an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. You will be approachable and compassionate, with a genuine interest and the ability to build relationships in a culturally sensitive manner. A strong grasp of computer literacy skills, especially in the Microsoft Office Suite, will be important for completing the primary functions of this role.
