About the Opportunity

Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Group now has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Director of Nursing to join their executive team in Bega, NSW, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee all nursing and care staff (roughly 230 employees) while effectively managing care services across all facilities. You'll do this by focusing on leadership, strategic direction and operational management of clinical and support functions.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the highest standard of service delivery and outcomes within budget, complying with relevant legislation and care standards;
  • Managing human resources to meet the service needs of the organisation;
  • Establishing and maintaining Work Health and Safety Policy and protocols;
  • Managing physical resources to meet the service needs of the organisation; and
  • Managing the delivery of care to residents.

About You

Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Group is looking for someone with demonstrated experience in a similar management role, such as Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing, as well as AHPRA registration.

Thorough knowledge of ACFI planning assessment and validation processes, HR principles, quality improvement, accreditation and WHS legislation is essential for your success. Additionally, you'll have strong financial and analytical skills, the ability to manage KPIs and meet strategic objectives, and be competent in the use of data and information management systems.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members on a daily basis. As a senior leader within the organisation, it's important you possess a high level of interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills.

Most importantly, you'll have a passion for delivering quality care through best practice and quality improvement, while maintaining an empathetic approach towards working with elderly people.

Although not essential, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and/or postgraduate qualifications in Management, Aged Care Management, Health Management or Gerontology, would be highly regarded.
