About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Painter to join our team at the Balmain Ship Yard.
In this role, you will be responsible for the expert preparation, painting, finishing and maintaining of the Harbour City Ferries fleet. You will provide specialist technical advice on painting and applied finishes, supporting the painting division as required.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing surfaces to be coated by using various methods (abrasive blasting, high-pressure water washing);
- Spray coatings (such as paint, enamel, 2 pack) onto manufactured products to provide finished surfaces;
- Touching up defective areas of painted items;
- Contributing to establishing and maintaining a safe workplace, with the ability to follow systems and procedures.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Trade Certificate III in Painting and Decorating;
- NSW OH&S White Card (you will be required to upload a copy of this document with your application);
- The ability to work in a team environment; and
- Previous industrial painting/blasting experience is advantageous.
Experience in boom lifts, confined space, working at heights and elevated work platform is an advantage.
