General Practitioner

Job No: 85476
Location: Walgett, NSW

"I am a GP who once visited WAMS to work for a few weeks and have been returning regularly over the last 11 years. The landscape draws you in as does the welcoming feel from the community once you allow yourself to become part of it . Being able to give good clinical care to a community with complex medical needs is also part of the satisfaction of being in the great team that is Walgett AMS" - Dr Viv Cebola

"I enjoy working in Walgett as it offers a stimulating mix of patients. I see and treat all age groups and both indigenous and non-indigenous. I particularly enjoy working away from Sydney and experiencing a different style and pace of life. I have never had cause to be concerned for my safety and always take time to be involved in community events when they coincide with my visits....I would strongly encourage all doctors to consider rural outreach or long term locums at Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service." - Dr David K Cook

"I have been consulting at WAMS since 2009 and have made 23 visits as a dermatologist and sexual health physician. The staff, both administrative and nursing, are pleasant, hardworking and efficient and the facilities are excellent. The majority of patients are underprivileged and would not otherwise be able to access equivalent medical care. It is a pleasure to work at WAMS" - Dr Ian Crossins
