Macfarlane Generators now has an exciting opportunity for a Large and Small Generator Sales Representative to join its dedicated team, working out of their Seven Hills showroom with the potential of some work on the road.

In this collaborative role, you will work with the National Sales Manager and Branch manager to display, promote, sell and coordinate service and repair of large and small generators, to grow the retail sales department of the branch. This will also include some large-scale project work and tendering giving you a chance to truly diversify your role.

Some of your more specific duties will include:

  • Attending to customers and key clients within a timely manner regarding Showroom sales, project needs, servicing, repairs and/or warranty enquiries;
  • Managing a diverse range of small and large-scale sales from enquiry to delivery;
  • Raising the showroom retail sales profile, sales opportunities, business improvement, customer relationships and growth in retail sales;
  • Preparing and creating quotes and tender responses;
  • Identifying RFP, RFT and RFQ opportunities; and
  • Working on sales strategies, including marketing and new business development.
  • The Company’s aim is and has been to have the best stocked Power Generation Set and accessories showrooms in the industry.

What we need from you

  • A strong electrical or mechanical knowledge with generator experience an advantage; 
  • Confidence, energy and drive
  • Proven sales record and strong commercial acumen
  • A connection to the electrical industry
  • Organised with strong leadership skills
  • Customer service experience and the willingness to assist customers effectively and efficiently;
  • Common sense, self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously; and
  • Excellent communication skills

In addition, you'll be able to prepare estimates/ tenders for multiple unit sales and large generators for projects.
