About the Opportunity 

Lifetime Connect has a fantastic opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join their dynamic team, with very flexible hours over a four day period across the Nambucca and Kempsey Shires.

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting the optimal growth and development of infants and pre-schoolers with disabilities and/or developmental delays. You will also be key in enabling and empowering families and promoting the acceptance and support of their children in society and as such enrich the total community.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Assisting in the establishment of collaborative relationships with key local child and family services and participate in the local network of family and children’s services;
  • Providing/arranging developmental assessments and facilitating educational plans and programs to children, 0 to 8 years living in the Nambucca and Kempsey Shires;
  • Preparing written reports on children's functional abilities for presentation to parents and other relevant professionals;
  • Conducting individual and small group sessions for children or community members (either ECI, EC centre or home based);
  • Monitoring and documenting each child's progress following each session; and
  • Advocating for clients and families where appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and although experience is desirable, Lifetime Connect is happy to accept applications from recent graduates. As this organisation is dedicated to paediatric speech pathology, experience working with children who have developmental delays will be highly regarded. 

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively document client information, is a key requirement of this role. You'll have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues as they arise, ensuring the needs of your clients are met. Above all, you'll be a reliable and self-motivated people-person, with a commitment to improving the developmental outcomes of the children and families you work with. 

You will be joining an incredible transdisciplinary team who work with the child to prepare them for a classroom situation and as such, Lifetime Connect is looking for a compassionate individual who has the ability to empathise and connect with the families of developmentally delayed children. This is a role where you will end each day knowing you have made a difference. 

It is essential to complete a Federal Police Check prior to commencement of this position, as well as to hold a valid driver's licence and your own registered and insured vehicle.
