Established in 1989, The Breakthrough Group is a family run business based in Cairns. The Breakthrough Group specialises in controlled demolition, core drilling and sawing solutions, asbestos removal, and civil works with operations throughout North Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The Breakthrough Group have many years experience with complex asbestos removal projects and an abundance of an A class asbestos removal workers. Different types and locations of asbestos include:
- Raw material
- Sheeting
- Pipe insulation
- Insulation
- Ceiling tiles
About the Opportunity
The Breakthrough Group has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor to join their team. Ideally, this position will be based in Cairns, however, The Breakthrough Group will consider candidates who wish to base themselves in Townsville.
Reporting to the Asbestos Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of various asbestos removal teams. This role will see you spend approximately half your time on site and actively supervising asbestos removal and the rest of your time working out of the Cairns office.
Your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Supervising small to mid-size asbestos removal teams between 4 and 25 people;
- Overseeing the safe removal of asbestos from site;
- Ensuring site information is up to date;
- Creating and implementing removal control plans; and
- Upholding high OH&S standards;
To be successful in this role you must hold a:
- Class A Supervisor Licence (CPCCBC4051A);
- White Card; and
- Valid Driver's Licence.
The Breakthrough Group is looking for a candidate who can be listed on their Company Licence as an Asbestos Supervisor. As such, to be successful you must have completed a minimum of 3 removals within the past 3 years to qualify for this role.
Previous supervisory experience will be highly regarded however is not mandatory. As you will be required on occasion to supervise works in Townsville and Darwin, some travel is a requirement of this role.
