About the Opportunity 

drummond street has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Child and Family Practitioner to join their Family Services team. 

This is a specific opportunity to provide leadership to our team working on our IHeal Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Assault Community Based support service.

This is an evidence based trauma informed recovery orientated support model, based on drummond street learnings and input of survivors in response to the Royal Commission. The service offers a trans-disciplinary recovery model of support that is flexible, compassionate, respectful, empowering and holistic, where survivors and their families are central (co-production framework).

The Senior Family & Child Practitioner will lead a high performing team drawing on the following skills, experience and leadership behaviours:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading, supervising and developing trans-disciplinary teams, including those with a lived experience;
  • Experience in leading the co-design, co-production delivery and evaluation of programs for peer survivors, harnessing the use of intentional peer support and education;
  • Leadership in ensuring exemplary practice quality to those with complex trauma, including identification and management of risks through recovery orientated approach to building protective factors;
  • Experience and commitment in the support and development of ‘lived experience’ peer work force and peer recovery based programs is highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of a range of innovative therapeutic  recovery orientated approaches to  for individuals, couples, families, children and young people;
  • A genuine interest and commitment to working with LGBTIQ Aboriginal, refuges, CaLD and other higher risk cohorts as part of drummond street’s inclusive practices.
