About drummond street services & the iHeal Program

drummond street services (DS) is a not-for-profit, non-denominational agency that has over 130 years in the development and delivery of innovative services that strengthens families and communities with a strong focus on evidence-based/informed practice and across the prevention and early intervention spectrum of universal and targeted support.

The iHeal Program is an evidence based trauma informed recovery orientated support model, based on drummond street learnings and input of survivors in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The service offers a trans-disciplinary recovery model of support that is flexible, compassionate, respectful, empowering and holistic, where survivors and their families are central (co-production framework).

What You'll Be Doing

drummond street is currently looking for a Team Leader - iHeal Program to join their Carlton-based team. This is a full-time, contract position until the end of June 2018 (possibility of extension subject to funding).

This role is essential to the success of the iHeal Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Assault Community Based support service. 

Not only will you deal directly with adult survivors of child sexual assault and their families, you'll also be responsible for overseeing a trans-disciplinary team from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including those with a lived experience (i.e. Peer Workers) providing a diverse range of recovery-oriented services.

You'll be crucial in leading change and contributing to the improvement of support services, working across an array of interventions including outreach work, case work, one-on-one counselling, program co-design and co-production.

About You

drummond street is seeking a highly driven and accountable leader, with excellent clinical management skills. Qualifications and experience in a relevant field (e.g. Community Development, Mental Health, etc.) will be essential for your success, as will experience working within a diverse and trans-disciplinary team (including people with lived experiences).

Due to the nature of the role, you will need a strong understanding of Institutional Abuse, as well as recovery-oriented work involving survivors of child sexual abuse and their families. Outreach work performed with people through the criminal justice system, AOD or homelessness will be highly beneficial.

Acting as a mentor for your team, you'll motivate and inspire others to perform to the highest standard. As a resilient and adaptable person who thrives in a fast-paced and changing environment, you'll also bring with you a vision for the future and enthusiasm for building and guiding your team throughout the process.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about leading change and understand the importance of utilising a variety of skill-sets and service types in order to achieve a successful, well-rounded and recovery-oriented outcome.
