About your new role

Due to their continued growth and expansion, MPA Surveying has multiple excellent opportunities for Surveyors to join their teams in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay and Illawarra on a full-time basis. 

With various positions available, you will be primarily responsible for conducting field survey tasks whether engineering, mining, construction or cadastral, as well as undertaking the related office calculations and drafting, ensuring project deliverables, timeframes and budgets are met. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Providing the day to day communication with clients, ensuring their requirements are met;
  • Establishing and maintaining accurate Survey Control;
  • Undertaking field surveys, calculations and data reduction;
  • Mentoring and developing operational personnel, providing guidance and training;
  • Maintaining and servicing survey equipment and vehicles; and
  • Assisting with preparation of quotations as required.

These roles will also involve some travel, with the requirement to work in other locations as required.

What we need from you

In addition to a completed degree or advanced diploma of Surveying, you will ideally be Registered with the QLD and/or NSW Surveyors Board or eligible and willing to attain registration. Experience in civil, construction and/or engineering surveying will be essential, with cadastral experience being held in high regard. Experience with using Leica/Trimble Robotic Total Station and GPS equipment, 12D and AutoCAD would be beneficial for your success.

Although these positions vary from graduate through to leadership, strong communication skills are essential at all levels as you will be required to engage and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. For the higher level roles, previous leadership experience and/or an aptitude for leading and mentoring a team will also be highly regarded.

Due to the nature of this role, it would be necessary for candidates to have an unrestricted manual drivers licence.
