About the Opportunity

CMV Truck & Bus Pty Ltd (CMV Group) has an excellent opportunity available for an experienced contracted site Workshop Supervisor to join their team, full time in Devonport, Tasmania. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the CMV operations at this facility, including the delegation and processing of all jobs through the workshop in order to achieve departmental targets and customer satisfaction. 

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Carrying out the service and repair of vehicles to ensure total customer satisfaction;
  • Ensuring relations with the manufacturer(s) are maintained to the highest standards and coordinate all of their requirements;
  • Monitor and maintain workflow during the Service Departments operating hours;
  • Instructing and training other Automotive Technicians and Apprentices as required; and
  • Implementing and maintaining a continuing policy of client follow-up and ensuring all complaints are dealt with quickly and effectively.

To be considered, you will need to hold a Heavy Vehicle Technician Trade certificate, combined with previous experience in heavy vehicle service and maintenance operations.

In this pivotal role you will be responsible for leading a team of 10, therefore prior management/ supervisory experience is a must, and will be key to your success in maintaining a cohesive team environment between CMV staff and customer employees. 

You must be able to work autonomously, and being a technical role you will also need to be detail and systems focused, with high level problem solving and diagnostic skills. A current drivers licence is a requirement of this position.
