About the Opportunity
GeoTerre Limited is currently seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer (NOC 2144) to join our team in Brampton, Ontario on a full-time basis (40 hours per week).
In this highly varied role, you will work with minimal supervision and be responsible for the design and construction aspects of a variety of geotechnical projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, coordinating and directing geotechnical investigation programs
- Processing and interpreting geotechnical investigation data
- Preparing geotechnical engineering reports
- Coordinating routine site verification inspection work
- Preparing proposals and cost estimates for new projects
- Developing and managing client relationships
You will do well in this role if you have a demonstrated ability to manage all facets of geotechnical assignments. Specifically, you will have knowledge of the theory and application of advanced soil mechanics and geotechnical foundation design principles. Preference will be given to candidates who possess advanced numerical analysis skills and with civil/structural engineering experience.
To qualify, you will have a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university combined with at least five years of relevant experience working with a geotechnical consultancy firm, ideally in North America. In addition, you will also demonstrate:
- Professional engineering designation (P.Eng) and registration/eligibility with PEO
- Experience preparing geotechnical investigation reports and provision of geotechnical design recommendations (for use by other professionals)
- Extensive hand’s on experience supervising, processing, evaluating and verifying field borehole investigation programs, including laboratory testing components
- Extensive experience with geotechnical site inspection and verification works
- Willingness to undertake field, office and laboratory aspects of all projects, as required
- Willingness to assist with business development activities, as required

You will maintain a high degree of computer literacy, including the ability to use standard and more advanced geotechnical engineering software packages. Most importantly, you will demonstrate high attention to detail, a positive work ethic, and you are confident, outgoing, and comfortable communicating and interacting with a variety of stakeholders.
About the Benefits
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of $75,000 to $95,000, commensurate with your skills, education and experience. The company also offers an attractive bonus scheme that is based on company performance.
