About the Role

Newlands Systems is growing fast and we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join the team in Abbotsford, BC

As an integral member of the Quality Control Team, you will report to the Director of Technical Services, and be responsible for creating and updating procedures as required, and maintaining our Total Quality Management System. 

Your primary responsibilities include: 

  • Creating and updating procedures as required and maintaining a Total Quality Management System
  • Inspecting activities throughout the production and assembly cycle for quality compliance
  • Inspecting materials at the receiving stage
  • Monitoring inspection sheets on the shop floor on regular basis
  • Inspecting equipment (during production, post-production and at pre-dispatch stages)
  • Applying Total Quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes
  • Conducting visual inspection and marking visual defects for correction, if any
  • Creating inspection reports as required
  • Managing the non-conformance system (initiating, tracking, resolution and closure)

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education in Engineering or QA/QC systems and a minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment. 

You will also possess:

  • Familiarity with the manufacturing industry, associated equipment, and industry specific QA/QC standard/systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Experience as Internal Auditor for ISO 9001
  • TIG welding inspection skills – CWB level 1 or equivalent (asset)
  • Experience using measuring devices: Vernier, Micrometer, Fillet gauge
  • Experience calibrating measuring devices: Pressure Gauges, Micrometers
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of ASME PV code procedures
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, including Excel
