About the Organisation
State Sports Centres Trust is a statutory authority which governs the Melbourne Sports Hub's four venues; Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC), Lakeside Stadium and the MSAC Institute of Training, a specialist training institute for the sport and recreation industry.
About the Opportunity
The State Sports Centres Trust (SSCT) has an exciting full time opportunity for a Gym Manager to join their team based at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Albert Park, Victoria.
Reporting to the Operations and Services Manager, you will be responsible for leading the health and wellness team encompassing the day to day operations, membership sales, group fitness classes and continued upgrades to services.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Developing and growing Gym sales in line with targets;
- Attaining retention targets;
- Developing the annual Marketing and Promotions Plan;
- Developing an annual Business Plan and Budget;
- Managing operational expenditure;
- Reviewing staff rosters; and
- Developing innovative programs for members.
To be considered, you'll have a Diploma of Fitness (or similar qualification) and a demonstrated experience in team development and leadership.
Previous experience in Business Development and sales experience in the fitness industry will also be pivotal to your success.
It goes without saying that you will have strong time management skills and be exceptionally organised, in order to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple tasks. You will also need to have a strong understanding of industry trends, passion for the gym and fitness industry, and excellent communication skills.
