About the Opportunity

Kamira has an excellent opportunity for a part-time (24 hours p/w) Child and Family Worker to join their professional team in Wyong, NSW, halfway between Sydney and Newcastle. 

Working within a diverse team of qualified and experienced Allied Health Workers, you will primarily be responsible for providing counselling and case management for pregnant women and women with children.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Provide case management and case co-ordination to Pregnant women and women with children;
  • Provide support and counselling under the direction of the Child and Family Therapist;
  • Facilitate parenting groups;
  • Assess and observe the developmental milestones of the children;
  • Provide observations to assist with treatment plans and attachment therapy plans; and
  • Establish productive working relationships with referral bodies and other stakeholders.

Kamira is looking for an individual with case management experience, along with relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology. Experience with attachment therapy, in the circle of security model, and/or working with parents and children with complex needs will be highly regarded.

You will be confident in your administrative and operational skills, as well as your ability to contribute to organisational objectives in a service delivery environment. The ability to make precise, intelligent decisions will be essential to this role.

Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team, along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will be key, as you will be engaging with clients and staff across all levels. Acting as a positive role model for others, you will have the ability to work in a team and follow company guidelines.

The ability to multi-task, high level organisation skills and experience in managing competing priorities effectively is also required.

Please Note: This is a part-time position, working 24 hours a week over 3 days with some flexibility. There will also be a rotating on call roster.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration circa $70,000 + super (pro-rata), dependent on experience and qualifications, plus std super and 6 weeks annual leave!
