About Contact Inc and the Children's Mobile Service
Contact was established in 1979 to celebrate the International ‘Year of the Child’. The organisation aims to help address the impacts of isolation for children, families and communities, taking a multifaceted approach to developing new solutions and new initiatives across all child, family and children’s sectors, providing service delivery in ways that best fit local child and family need.
There are still many remote areas in Australia where services that could support children and their families are not available. Philanthropic funding is enabling the development of the Contact Children’s Mobile Service (CCMs), based in Alice Springs. This service aims to provide a range of child and family programs to the Ti Tree and Utopia Homelands regions for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal families.

Contact Inc has an opportunity for a highly engaging Coordinator to coordinate the day-to-day service delivery of their Mobile Education Programs based in Alice Springs, and servicing the Utopia Homelands regions. This is a full-time role based in the Northern Territory however Contact will also consider job-share opportunities for the right person.
This newly created position would suit an early childhood professional with a willingness to work for a defined period of time with the service.
Some of your day-to-day duties will include:
- Developing implementing and monitoring strategies to identify child and family-related needs;
- Organising and supervising the delivery of culturally relevant early childhood play-based programs for children;
- Developing culturally relevant programs for families to support parenting skills and their engagement within the early learning programs delivered; and
- Maintaining all administrative matters, including relevant accounts documents.
What you need to succeed
This role calls for someone who relishes the idea of applying their early childhood teaching experience to work in a remote area of Australia, engaging with children, families and community.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Australian Recognised, formal Early Childhood Teacher qualifications with a minimum 4-year Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or equivalent;
- Australian‑based early childhood teaching experience (leadership experience preferred);
- Maturity and life experiences which have equipped you to enjoy the challenge of this position;
- A demonstrated understanding of and respect for individual, social and cultural differences;
- An enjoyment of new challenges, with a flexible attitude and creative, lateral thinking; and
- An understanding of the unique special privilege and opportunity that this position will offer.

Additional requirements include a current NT OCHRE Card or willingness to undertake an NT Working with Children Check, as well as 4WD and basic vehicle maintenance training, First Aid training and a medical assessment.
