About the Organisation
Steamers Bar and Grill is a 300 seat bar and restaurant overlooking Wollongong's spectacular waterfront. Offering a communal style dining experience, showcasing some of the regions finest produce, the Steamers menu features organically grown ingredients from their farm located in Jamberoo. Dishes also include wild caught seafood and dry-aged organic cuts of meat.
Steamers also has a well-defined bar offering a wide variety of high-quality spirits, Australian and international wine, innovative cocktails, and a selection of craft beers.
About the Opportunity
Steamers Bar and Grill now has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Bar and Beverage Manager to join their team.
In this busy and varied role, you will be primarily responsible for managing and operating the Steamers Bar. You will also coach and direct members of the bar team whilst providing beverage support to the restaurant service.
Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Providing customers with world-class service;
- Stock control and stock take;
- Training and mentoring bar staff;
- Liaising with other members of the management team;
- Providing wine and spirit knowledge to patrons and staff; and
- Working to WH&S standards.
To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated experience in a previous role, extensive knowledge of craft beer, spirits, wine, and cocktails and a strong understanding of staff management. You will also be willing to acquire extra knowledge of all types of alcohol and beverage trends.
As this is a busy and high pressured hospitality environment, you will have the ability to multi-task whilst providing guests with an exceptional level of customer service.
This role will suit an individual who has a passion for wine and spirits, food, and customer service. You will be a self-motivator who is seeking to advance a career in the hospitality industry.
Please Note: Candidates must be available to work during peak periods including nights and weekends and hold a current NSW RSA.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with an attractive salary of $75,000 plus super. Steamers Bar and Grill also provides opportunities for pay reviews after 6 months of employment to ensure the remuneration package reflects the contributions of the Bar and Beverage Manager.
