About the Organisation
The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland was formed 60 years ago and is now Queensland's largest, non-government physical disability services provider. The League spends approximately $60 million a year to provide services that assist people with cerebral palsy and related disabilities to reach their education, employment, and independent living and community participation goals. The resources to do this are obtained through fundraising activities, community support and some government assistance.
The League places particular importance on early intervention methods and providing targeted services at a young age. Its vision is to assist people with disabilities to create and access opportunities that will lead to valued lives as respected and equal members of society within their families and communities.
About Rockhampton
Rockhampton is one of Australia's most diverse cities. Surrounded by coastal and rural landscapes, the city truly is the definition of the outback meeting the reef.
Rockhampton offers a unique lifestyle to its residents, ranging from competitive business opportunities and highly regarded educational institutions, to a huge range of extracurricular activities where people are able to be skilled in the arts, sports, and culture.
With a population of around 70,000, Rockhampton is seen as the unofficial capital of Central Queensland. The city is home to a significant number of governmental, community and major business administrative offices for the central part of the state and is a short drive to the beautiful coastal community of Yeppoon.
