About the Opportunity

St Hedwig Village now is seeking dedicated and professional Care Service Employees to join their team. 

As a member of the St Hedwig team, you will be responsible for providing a person-centred approach to resident care with compassion, integrity, and dignity. 

Some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing quality assistance with a range of daily activities;
  • Supporting residents with self-care including personal hygiene, dressing and grooming;
  • Involvement with and assisting at meal times; 
  • Providing emotional and social support to the people in your care; and
  • Medication administration in a low care setting.

To be successful, you will have a Certificate III (or equivalent) in Aged Care, Nursing or a related field.  Ideally, you will have previous experience in aged care with a strong understanding of residents' changing care needs. Previous experience in dementia care will be highly regarded. 

You will also need a strong understanding of - and commitment to - workplace health and safety, infection control principles and manual handling techniques and equipment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a sensitivity to people from cross-cultural backgrounds is vital, as you will be interacting with St Hedwig Village's residents, their families or carers and other service providers. Excellent computer literacy and demonstrated experience with documentation will be pivotal to your success in this role.

Please note: Candidates must be willing to undergo a criminal history check and physiotherapy assessment to ensure you can safely perform the duties required in this role.
