About the Opportunity

Wimmera UnitingCare has an exciting opportunity for a People and Culture Manager to join their dedicated Horsham team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the General Manager People and Culture, the People and Culture Manager is part of the local leadership team and also works alongside the Executive Officer of Wimmera UnitingCare. You will be primarily responsible for leading the unification of the agency into the UnitingCare network, and assisting the management team in achieving positive People and Culture outcomes. This role will focus heavily on change management, ensuring UnitingCare communication plans are embedded into the organisational structure.

Some of your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the Agency’s Operational Plan;
  • Providing direction, leadership and support to drive quality achievements and performance improvements throughout the organisation;
  • Providing support and advice in conflict resolution and performance management to Managers and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures;
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands and assisting with the management of grievances or other issues, and conducting workplace investigations as required;
  • Working with the Leadership Team to evaluate staff training and development programs and oversee the implementation of agreed training within budget; and
  • Actively managing the safe working practices in the team.

About You

Wimmera UnitingCare is seeking a tertiary-qualified professional who has significant experience within human resources management. Experience with the underlying principles of continuous quality improvement and accreditation will be essential, as will knowledge of the statutory requirements related to human resources and quality community services.

As a key objective of this role is to lead Wimmera UnitingCare through a period of change with the aim of establishing the organisation as an 'employer of choice', it is crucial you have significant change management experience.

Importantly, you will be able to work autonomously as well as in an effective leadership capacity. A leader who radiates positivity, you'll be skilled in people management and be the type of person who builds genuine connections with team members in order for them to flourish.

Competency in the use of computer and human resource databases and metrics is also required.

Above all, you’ll have an understanding of, and commitment to, the programs of Wimmera UnitingCare, with the drive to continually improve the internal policies and procedures the organisation employs.

Please Note: A current driver's license, Working with Children Check and National Police Check are all requirements of this role.
