About The Opportunity 

Nunavut Housing Corporation is currently seeking multiple, full-time Residential Housing Maintenance Managers to work with various Local Housing Organizations across Nunavut. 

The Maintenance Manager plans and administers the Public Housing maintenance program and provides supervisory direction and support to department staff. You will also oversee minor O&M funded projects and monitor capital projects. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Ensuring that all preventative maintenance is scheduled and completed
  • Developing the annual work plan for maintenance services
  • Receiving and reviewing repair requests from tenants 
  • Ensuring annual condition ratings of housing assets are completed
  • Organizing the annual sealift order and ensuring that all stock inventory is accounted for
  • Dealing with human resource issues concerning direct reports 
  • Other duties, as required

For these roles, we are seeking qualified Red Seal Journeyman with experience in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, oil burner mechanic, electrician or housing maintenance serviceman

The successful candidates will also demonstrate: 

  • Working knowledge of residential building components and maintenance procedures
  • Previous experience leading and supervising other employees

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo a criminal background check and a valid Class 5 Driver's License is essential.

Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset, as is knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatugang.  

Please note that the LHOs operate under a management agreement with the NHC. As such, you will report to the NHC and will work closely with the district offices.
