About the Opportunity

Caringa now has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer to join their Grafton team on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the organisations financial operations, records, and reporting are to a professional and compliant standard.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Strategic management of all financial processes and reporting;
  • Operational supervision of accounts and payroll;
  • Providing timely and professional financial support and advice to Management;
  • Oversight of payroll and superannuation;
  • Providing timely broad spectrum financial advice to the CEO, Board, and Management Team;
  • Assisting in formulation and adherence to budgets;
  • Financial forecasting for the CEO and Board; and
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative and statutory requirements including the NFP framework.

To be successful in this position, you will have previous demonstrated experience in a similar role, an understanding of NFP organisations, and hold a tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or equivalent and/or postgraduate qualifications in a Finance discipline with CPA qualification.

In addition, you will have a proven track record of high-level of analytical problem-solving and critical evaluation skills. You will also have the ability to think strategically and develop financial management systems required to operationalise a growing NFP organisation. You will also have a proven ability to communicate complex financial processes and information to a lay audience.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in using industry standard software, preparing company FBT, BAS, and other statutory reports and will be skilled at formulating and managing budgets.

You will have demonstrated experience supervising staff whilst working as part of a dynamic team, networking and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and display exceptional written and oral communication skills.

While not essential, candidates with experience in the Disability or Community Services Sector, and experience in the formulation of budgets for tender submissions will be highly regarded.
