Childrenfirst has an exciting opportunity for a can-do Centre Director to join its custom-built Children’s Centre in Blacktown, in the Greater Western Sydney region. This role is being offered on a flexible, part-time basis 30 hours per week. 

As Centre Director, you will lead a team of professional and very capable educators, taking ultimate responsibility for the performance across a 20 place Federally funded preschool and a 70 place State funded preschool and occasional care centre, to ensure continuous improvement and centre excellence. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Leading staff to develop and implement the state of the art educational program;
  • Support parents in taking part in the education of their children;
  • Manage a large staff team and the Centre budget;
  • Implement centre curriculum practices within the National Quality Framework, Early Learning Years Framework and My Time, Our Place;
  • Ensure that the Centre meets its financial and moral responsibilities to children, families and our community, as well as to Childrenfirst; and
  • Ensure compliance of this large and complex service.

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you hold tertiary qualifications (University Degree) in Early Childhood Education and have previous experience working within the Preschool, Child Care, Education or Community sectors. 

As this is a leadership position, previous experience and/or qualifications in management will be viewed favourably, with an aptitude for management and an ambitious and passionate leadership style, a must.

The Centre Director will need to be across the reporting requirements for this program. This will require a working knowledge of the requirements of funding streams for children with additional needs. You will have a demonstrated and working knowledge of community preschool funding requirements.

This role would be well-suited to a proven Centre Director looking for a new opportunity, or a Degree qualified Educator with an aptitude for leadership, who is looking to take the next exciting step in their career.

Please note: Prior to commencement the successful candidate will need to obtain a Child Protection qualification recognised by DEC; a Working with Children Check and a First Aid Certificate.
