About the Organisation
Avondale Aged Care Facility is a new, state of the art Aged Care Home in the NSW town of Cooranbong, offering residents a flexible range of accommodation choices including High Care, Low Care and Low Care Dementia Specific. The Home has been specifically designed to create a warm, homelike environment for residents and staff alike, while using the best of the latest technology.
Conveniently located in the Avondale Retirement Village Estate, accommodation includes 72 High Care beds in large, tastefully furnished single and double rooms, each with their own ensuites. The low care level offers 35 beds in beautifully appointed single rooms with ensuites, and the 15 bed low care dementia specific level offers large individually designed single rooms, also with ensuites. Each level is equipped with its own spacious lounge, dining and activity areas, with worship services being provided in the Seventh-Day Adventist Chapel, while a modern cafeteria offers a wide-ranging and culturally diverse menu for residents, family, friends and staff to enjoy.
About the Opportunities
Avondale Aged Care Facility now has multiple opportunities for Home Care Workers to join their friendly team, in Cooranbong, NSW.
These roles are being offered on a casual basis, with a possibility of permanent part-time work in the future. The positions cover flexible hours between 6:30am to 9:30pm including a mix of day, evening, weekend and public holiday work.
In this rewarding position, you will contribute to providing the best care and accommodation services for residents, in line with the facility's excellent reputation in the community.
More specifically, your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Supporting individuals to develop independent living skills to manage their own home (e.g. shopping, meal preparation);
- Providing assistance with domestic duties and personal care;
- Transporting clients in vehicles or providing support on public transport; and
- Assisting and encouraging individuals to develop and maintain their social relationships.
The successful candidates will hold at minimum a Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or Home and Community Care, and a First Aid Certificate, or be willing to obtain prior to commencing employment. In addition, candidates must hold a certificate in Medical Administration or equivalent, prior to being considered.

You will be a reliable and flexible team player with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to relate to residents and staff at all levels, and the ability to work in challenging situations, both autonomously and as part of a team.
Please note: These roles will involve driving, as such you must hold a current Driver’s license and have your own car with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
