About the Opportunity

Barrett Shopfitting now has an opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team full-time, based in Brisbane, QLD.

Reporting to the company Directors, you will be primarily responsible for attending to the everyday financial needs of the business, managing the books and accounting functions and ensuring everything is accurately recorded.

More specifically, you'll be responsible for: 

  • All aspects of Accounts Payable, including data entry and reconciliation whilst adhering to statutory requirements e.g. GST;
  • Bank reconciliations, loan accounts, PAYG accounts and inter-company accounts, amongst others with a view to resolving issues as they arise;
  • Processing of payroll and reporting requirements;
  • Reporting for preparation of a Business Activity Statement (BAS); and
  • Credit Card processing and reconciliation.

Are You the Right Fit?

Barrett Shopfitting is looking for candidates with previous experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of the payroll process. Whilst tertiary or vocational qualifications are not essential, you must have the ability to learn quickly, work to multiple deadlines, and prioritise your own workload. 

The successful applicant must be confident and professional, with good analytic skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle a variety of financial administrative tasks and processing responsibilities.

This role would be well suited to someone with strong communication skills, as you will be liaising with individuals from various backgrounds and inter-departmentally throughout the organisation. Intermediate computer skills are also required.
