About the Opportunity
Chrysalis Support Services now has an opportunity for a Counsellor - Child Sexual Assault to join their team in Geraldton, WA. This is a full-time position, working between Monday-Friday, with a rotational on-call roster after hours.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing services that assist children and young people recover from the harmful impacts of child sexual abuse and work with their families and communities to support children in the healing process.
More specifically, your duties will include:
- Provision of counselling and case management to children and young people who have been affected by child sexual abuse.
- Providing counselling and therapeutic responses to children and young people who are responsible for, or at risk of sexually abusing other children.
- You will be required to provide a variety of therapeutic interventions, using evidenced based models.
To be successful, you will have previous experience providing individual counselling and therapeutic support, specifically with children.
The candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline. You must also be registered, or eligible for registration with a relevant professional association.

You will also have demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, within time constraints.
Candidates must have well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication abilities, including report writing for funding bodies, as well as strong computer competency skills.
While not essential, candidates with experience working with Aboriginal people and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, will be highly regarded.
Please note: A current driver's licence, a current Federal Police Clearance and a current Working with Children check (or a willingness to obtain these), is also essential.
