About Greenleaf Care Plus

Greenleaf Care Plus is an emerging supported accommodation provider in ACT. Having opened doors in 2016, the organisation provides care solely for NDIS participants with psycho-social disabilities.

Greenleaf's Supported Living Program operates under an innovative and multi-agency model of sustainable recovery from mental illnesses through 24/7 staff support for participants with standard and high needs. Their homes offer residents a comfortable and homely opportunity to live alongside people, begin to make friends, regain and build on strengths and connect with the community. 

A leading provider of "Assistance in a Shared Living arrangement" for complex needs participants, the organisation currently provides support to 12 participants in 3 Canberra based houses. With growth plans on the horizon, Greenleaf plans to open more houses soon in ACT and inter-state.

About the Opportunity

Greenleaf Care Plus has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Residential Program Manager - Mental Health to join their team in Canberra, ACT.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the service design and delivery of the Supported Living Program, including the provision of referral coordination, advanced assessment, recovery planning, clinical coordination and therapeutic interventions. This program will be in line with the organisation’s strategic plan to assist people living with psycho-social disabilities to re-integrate with the community, and develop the skills and capabilities to live independently.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Consulting and liaising with ACT Health and community agencies/groups to develop relationships for service delivery activities and business promotion;
  • Providing high level skilled clinical assessment and interventions across Greenleaf's NDIS services;
  • Liaising with participants, carers and other service providers to facilitate effective service provision;
  • Solving problems and managing cases where principles, procedures and techniques require expansion, adaptation and modification;
  • Providing intensive support and management planning to support staff to assist in the ongoing care of participants with complex needs;
  • Working closely with the Director to formulate and implement policies and expand services to the community as needed; and
  • Providing reports to the Director of Mental Health Programs and funding bodies as required.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or a similar relevant discipline, along with extensive experience in clinical mental health delivery (preferably within a residential-based capacity). This will ensure you possess sound knowledge of contemporary mental health issues and best practice approaches in mental health.

This pivotal role will require clinical competence in collaborative assessment, planning, treatment and intervention of people with complex mental illnesses/dysfunction, as well as a demonstrated understanding of principles of recovery and implications for practice. 

Although you will be working closely with the Managing Director, it's important you have the ability to provide supervision and staff education. Importantly, as you will be liaising directly with key stakeholders, it's essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
