About the Opportunity

United Group Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time HR Manager to join their team in Adelaide, SA.

Reporting to the Director, the HR Manager will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the Director with HR practice guidance and HR strategy;
  • In conjunction with senior management, setting the organisation's culture and being the Organisational Culture Champion;
  • Overseeing recruitment and onboarding;
  • Monitoring staff KPIs, evaluating performance and setting remuneration levels;
  • Working with the management team and site leaders to identify and resolve HR priorities;
  • Coaching and developing leaders to improve business effectiveness and ensuring compliance with workplace legislation;
  • Maintaining and developing operational and strategic HR standards, processes and policies; and
  • Recording data and assisting in the reporting and analysis of HR management information.

This is a hands-on role involving execution of daily HR operations while also allowing you to use your innovation, drive and knowledge to assist in business strategy and growth through the provision of sound HR advice.

The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in a senior operational HR role (ideally within mining, construction, or similar). This will ensure you have a strong understanding of HR systems, policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience in the investigation and close out of disciplinary incidents and case management will be essential, as will a track record of delivering business/commercial outcomes.

As you will be responsible for creating position descriptions, and identifying and clarifying all role responsibilities, it's crucial you have the ability to structure roles and quickly gain a thorough understanding of the scope of each position within the organisation.

In addition, it's important you possess strong leadership skills, the ability to influence, negotiate and problem solve, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
