About the Opportunity
Gescan currently has multiple opportunities for Counter Sales Associates in Vancouver (2 Full-time and 1 Part-time position).
In these roles, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers who visit the branch to either place orders, and/or pickup their product requirements.
Your core duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Completing the pre-shift inspection for forklift, including battery maintenance
- Filling orders and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
- Informing customer and/or the Sales Department of any issues that might occur with filling product requested
- Continuously updating the Branch Manager of customer interests and issues
- Entering sales order for product(s) selected by the customer and ensuring all materials have been entered accordingly and documentation is complete within the close of sale, including entering customer orders for pickup and ship out
- Assisting customers with identifying the specific product they are looking for based on their requirements and suggesting alternatives if required, and/or up-selling related product(s)
- Physically locating/picking order once product order has been finalized
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Assisting with the overflow of sales calls
- Assisting the Shipping/Receiving Department with storing product/inventory
- Assisting in the warehouse as required
In order to qualify for this role, you will have a high school diploma and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- Experience in, or knowledge of electrical products
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (required)
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and operational awareness
- A high attention to detail
- Experience using inventory software (asset only)
Above all, you are a motivated professional with the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Please note that due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to safely lift up to 50lbs.
