About the Opportunities

Save On Foods currently has multiple opportunities available for Wine Advisors in Tsawwassen, BC

Reporting to the Wine Department Team Leader, you will work in our Wine department to create an exciting and legendary customer service experience with prompt service, product knowledge expertise, and quality local wine products, all while maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. 

A typical day in this role may look something like this:

  • Creating great customer experiences by offering friendly, prompt, efficient, and courteous service
  • Ensuring that wine products are appropriately stocked, attractively displayed, and rotated to ensure quality and freshness
  • Providing customers with information about various specially selected wines and making recommendations on tastings and food pairings (when required)
  • Ensuring a clean and sanitary environment

This is an exciting opportunity for a customer first team player who is driven by contributing to a positive work environment and who takes pride in working for a leader and innovator in the grocery industry.

Qualified candidates will have previous experience in a retail or hospitality environment with excellent customer service skills. A post-secondary education in food/beverage/hospitality studies is considered an asset. In order to qualify for this role, you must be 19 years of age or older and be willing to undergo a criminal background check

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate: 

  • Comprehensive wine knowledge to educate customers and their preferences
  • The ability to make suggestions and recommendations regarding wine and food pairings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communications skills
  • WSET certification (asset)
  • Serving It Right certification (asset)

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a high attention to detail, quality, and presentation. This is currently a part time position with the potential of transitioning into a full time role and/or additional growth opportunities. Please also note that there are full-time hours available for these part time positions.

Please note that you must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week, and must have flexible availability including weeknights and weekends.
