SE Panels is based in Oakleigh South and has invested in modern equipment including spray booths and Auto Robots. You will be joining a team that strives to offer a standard of excellence in motor vehicle repairs and customer service.
SE Panels now has an opportunity for a driven and focused Panel Shop Manager with experience to manage the day-to-day operations of their Autobody Repair Panel Shop based in Oakleigh South in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs.
Reporting directly to the SE Autogroup owners, you will be primarily responsible for securing repeat and new business by ensuring the shop is running as effectively and efficiently as possible. You will take primary responsibility for quoting client repair works, and providing leadership and guidance to the Panel Shop team, in order to keep them engaged and motivated. This will include spending some time on the shop floor overseeing works and giving direction and advice as necessary.
Day-to-day this will include:
- Assessing vehicle damage and identifying the best course of action;
- Coordinating and preparing quotes for works required, ensuring best possible pricing on parts required;
- Liaising with customers to give details of work required and appropriate timelines;
- Overseeing work delivered by a team of 5 staff to ensure it is done correctly and within the given timeframes; and
To be successful in this position you will be a Panel Shop Manager who has previous experience.
You are not expected to get on the tools on a daily basis in this role. However - we are looking for someone who is visible to the team and not locked away in the office all day. You will be a personable and approachable leader - primarily spending your time acting as the face of the business and engaging with clients - but stepping in to show the team how to do things if needed.
Importantly, SE Panels is looking for someone who will take ownership of the business and treat it as if it was your own - always looking for new opportunities to improve processes or generate new business during quieter periods.
This role would be well-suited to an experienced Panel Shop Manager who is looking for a similar role, but within an organisation that will allow you full freedom to run your team, your workshop and truly make it your own.
