About the Opportunity

Sicom is currently seeking several CNC/Manual Machinists to join our team in Langley, British Columbia on a full-time basis. There are two shift options available: 

  • 5-day weekday shift (Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts) 
  • 3-day weekend shift (Friday to Sunday, 12-hour shifts) - paid for 40 hours

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of new CNC or manual machines including lathes (VTL's) and/or milling centers. Preference will be given to candidates who have an IT background along with the ability to program the CNC machining equipment. 

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Operating and setting up CNC mills or lathes (or manual lathes and mills)
  • Editing and optimizing CNC programs
  • Calculating mathematical formulas to determine part dimensions
  • Performing inspection on completed parts

For this role, our ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of machining experience, paired with set-up experience and a strong mechanical aptitude. A combination of a relevant post-secondary education and less experience will also be considered. Your strong organizational and communication skills will also serve you well.
