About the Opportunity
Thunder Creek Pork currently has multiple opportunities available for Meat Cutters to join our team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on a full-time basis.
With an unwavering commitment to food safety and employee safety, responsibilities will include:
- Lifting neck bones, trim loins and butts, boning all primal and subprimal pork cuts to specification
- Removing jowl dunseth blade, removing hind leg, boning picnics, boning buckeyes, staged boning
- Working in a smart, safe, and accurate manner by following all company procedures to ensure compliance with all food safety standards
- Maintaining a hygienic work environment by ensuring that all tools and equipment are clean and operational
As a Meat Cutter, you will cut meat in order to meet customer specifications and ensure minimal waste. You will be required to identify meat cuts, address errors, and work as part of a team to meet or exceed production targets while keeping pace with a conveyor. This is a great opportunity for workers who are looking for stable, full-time work and opportunities for in-house training.
As our ideal candidate, you will need a minimum of 6 months experience as a meat cutter (preferably with beef or pork), demonstratable knife skills, good communication skills and have a functional level of English. You will also possess:
- Ability to maintain production line speed
- The ability to adhere to and help set production targets
- The ability to work as part of a team
- A commitment to punctuality
- Previous manufacturing/food production machine experience
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to be flexible and adaptable, have good manual dexterity, and have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs/27kgs.
Due to the nature of these roles, it is important that you are comfortable working in cold and noisy conditions. You must also be comfortable standing for your entire shift and completing fast-paced repetitive work.
