About the Opportunity
iFortune Homes has a growth opportunity for a senior construction manager located in Richmond, BC.
In this senior role, you will be responsible for all aspects of construction project management including:
- Planning and managing all contractor and sub-contractor needs and schedules as per project specifications
- Managing multiple construction projects at the same time
- Ensuring onsite safety
- Estimation for project materials
- Planning, scheduling and performing risk assessment and quality control throughout the project
- Creating and implementing each project's budget
- Monitoring project progress throughout to ensure time and cost measures are being implemented
- Negotiating with suppliers and contractors on various contracts
- Establishing and arranging the schedule for each project to ensure all projects are met on time
Our aim is to maintain a small staff of creative professionals who can do it all, or close! Once one of our managers is assigned to a project, they generally see it through from tender to completion, thereby providing owners, consultants, and subcontractors with a single point of contact throughout the life of the project. You will have multiple project managers reporting to you and it will be your responsibility to ensure that they are working towards the common goal of success for both iFortune and the client.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and disciplined leader who has at least 10 years experience in the construction industry in a mix of single house, townhouse and highrise management combined with 5 years of relevant management experience. You must also be very familiar with the BC Building Codes, the BC Construction Laws, have obtained at least 5 of your years of experience in BC, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal English communication skills, strong conflict resolution skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, the ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time, the ability to manage multiple teams and people at once, and most importantly, demonstratable problem-solving skills.
If successful in this role, this position is designed to have the career growth path into the Vice President of Construction.
