About the Opportunity

Summerland Credit Union now has a position for an individual with strong leadership skills who is ready to take the next step in their career!

The position of Branch Manager is being offered on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work out of the Casino branch (for the majority of the week) and the Kyogle Branch.

Reporting to the Frontline Sales Manager you will be responsible for Managing the Casino/Kyogle Branch and ensuring the growth and development of sales in the region and for serving the financial needs of customers.

More specifically, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Growing sales throughout the region to increase Branch performance/profitability;
  • Assisting with the development of the team through coaching and implementing staff development plans;
  • Identifying areas of innovation within the Credit Union that may provide improvements in service;
  • Discussing Branch performance at Branch team meetings;
  • Providing Branch training sessions;
  • Encouraging team members to facilitate conversations with customers and the community in order to identify customer needs;
  • Undertaking business development and promotional activities to raise the profile of the branch; and
  • Conducting loan interviews and development of submissions for lending.

To be successful in this role you will be a strong leader with previous experience in a Credit Union, Bank, or similar or in sales and business development.

It is not essential that candidates have previous experience as a Bank/Branch Manager. Summerland is willing to provide on the job training for the successful applicant provided they employ excellent leadership skills and affability.

It is essential in this role that you are enthusiastic and have the ability to provide team members with effective leadership and mentorship. You will be a solution based thinker who is willing to share new and innovative ideas with the team and create a strong sense of morale across both branches. As such, you will need exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

These skills will also allow you to influence and motivate people of all levels and will assist you in building great working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in the region. The successful candidate will also enjoy participating in community events.

High energy levels will be required to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.  You will thrive in a high volume and high-pressure environment and be confident in dealing with difficult customers to address concerns and ensure a positive outcome.  A high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills is key. 

Excellent computer literacy will also be essential to your success.
