About the Organization

Created in 2008 and privately held, Harmac Pacific Pulp operates a Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill on the east coast of Vancouver Island near Nanaimo, BC. Nanaimo Forest Products (NFP) Ltd., the owner of the Harmac Pacific trademark, restarted the mill with a single production line on October 3, 2008. Since that time the mill has grown to two production lines and a capacity of 370,000 tonnes of world class pulp per year.

The key to the Harmac’s success is the employee ownership model. Our employees are very active participants in the running of the business and have 2 members that they appoint to the company’s 6 seats on its Board of Directors. 

The future of Harmac Pacific Pulp is looking bright. Through extensive capital investments, the organization has made significant improvements to productivity and reliability. In addition, as of 2013, a 25 MW Green Energy turbo-generator which we currently use to sell power to BC Hydro has been installed.

About the Opportunity

Harmac has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Shipping Administrator to join our Production Department in our 370,000 tonne per year pulp mill in Nanaimo, BC

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of all data collection and documentation for pulp production.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing required order information to Sales and Marketing
  • Producing reports for production, inventory, shipments and quality
  • Providing administration support for the Production Department.

Core skills required for this position are;

  • strong skills in work requiring detailed and accurate statistical information,
  • independent self-starter,
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills,
  • extensive knowledge of desk top computer software applications,
  • experience in the administration of a large organization,

Finally, you must have a proven track record of assuming progressively more responsible positions and post-secondary training in a related field will be considered an asset in this position.
