The dedicated team at the Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre in Cooma, NSW, has two opportunities for passionate Registered Nurses to join their team on either a full-time or casual basis. This is an incredible opportunity to join a highly skilled nursing team and would suit both graduates looking to gain experience in rural nursing and aged care, or experienced Registered Nurses looking to share their skills and experiences with their colleagues. About You

The Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre (SWHMC) is seeking two qualified Registered Nurses, who are eligible for full registration with APRHA.

Postgraduate qualifications and/or experience in aged care will be highly regarded, however, are not essential as full training will be provided.

Importantly, you’ll be confident in your clinical assessment skills, ensuring you’re well-equipped to thrive in this rural nursing environment. In addition, you’ll have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations and work with clients from a broad variety of backgrounds.

You’ll be eager to learn, with the drive to constantly build upon your skills and experiences as you become part of this highly skilled nursing team. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour, will see you flourish in this role.

A strong passion for nursing and a drive to innovate the services provided within the organisation will make you a stand-out candidate for this role. You’ll show initiative, ready to share your ideas for continual improvement strategies that will bring SWHMC to the forefront of rural aged care.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse with SWHMC, you’ll be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care and support to both low and high care needs clients, in order to ensure the exceptional level of service is maintained throughout the organisation.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the management of holistic care provided to clients;
  • Ensuring resident comfort is maintained during and after nursing interventions;
  • Implementing and reviewing resident care plans;
  • Completing relevant documentation for provided care; and
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, respect, and support with clients.

About the Facility

The Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre is a not-for-profit, 72-bed residence, providing residential aged care services to a broad range of clients. They provide a 52-bed high care unit, which accommodates for clients with high care needs, including clients with dementia. In addition, they have a 20-bed low-care unit, which provides a semi-independent living for clients with low care needs.

With a dedicated team of around 100 staff, including nursing, administration, and support professionals, the Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre has been providing services to the Cooma community for over 30 years.
