The dedicated team at the Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre in Cooma, NSW, is now seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to take on a full-time role of Care Manager.

About the Role

As the Care Manager reporting to the Director of Nursing, you’ll be responsible for driving the culture of clinical excellence across all levels of direct resident care staff, from Registered Nurses through to Care Workers, ensuring the service meets all accreditation standards for clinical and care requirements.

Some of your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Developing and leading clinical staff to focus on a culture of continual improvement and quality in line with best practice;
  • Implementing quality improvement plans to address high quality care described in all accreditation audits;
  • Overseeing all documentation, planning and financial matters related to the ACFI; and
  • Ensuring resident care is conducted in alignment with best practice.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 3.30pm, however there is flexibility around these hours if required.

About You

Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre (SWHMC) is seeking a Clinical Nurse who holds (or is eligible for) full registration with APRHA, and has some demonstrated aged care experience. Although not required, formal qualifications in Patient Safety, Clinical Quality or Aged Care will be highly regarded.

A strong understanding of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), clinical leadership experience, and a proven ability to develop and maintain care plans will be essential for your success. Additionally, you'll have a sound understanding of clinical governance, and accreditation and compliance under ACFI.

A strong passion for continuance quality improvement and delivery of excellence in client care will make you a stand-out candidate for this role. You’ll be an inclusive and inspirational leader, with excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate your thoughts to other staff.

Computer literacy in a Windows environment is required.

About the Facility

The Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre is a not-for-profit, 72-bed residence, providing residential aged care services to a broad range of clients. They provide a 52-bed high care unit, which accommodates for clients with high care needs, including clients with dementia. In addition, they have a 20-bed low-care unit, which provides a semi-independent living for clients with low care needs.

With a dedicated team of around 100 staff, including nursing, administration, and support professionals, the Sir William Hudson Memorial Centre has been providing services to the Cooma community for over 30 years.
