About the Opportunity

Lethbridge Iron Works Ltd. has a fantastic opportunity for a CNC Machinist (Woodwork) to join our team on a full-time basis. 

In this role, you will be instructed and coordinated by the foundry engineering and production departments to produce and maintain pattern equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Building or altering gating and risering
  • Mounting pattern and gating on pattern board
  • Painting the patterns and making templates
  • Maintaining the existing patterns and repairing broken patterns
  • Laying out patterns and measuring the patterns
  • Reviewing and completing tooling change reports
  • Providing requested pattern status information as required

In order to qualify for this role, you must be able to read and understand blueprints, have a good working knowledge of hand and power tools related to pattern making and wood working equipment and possess experience in working with pattern making materials including, wood, metal, epoxy resins, paint, glue and abrasives.

Our ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Ability to work with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to work with lathe and mill (Asset)
  • A high level of detail orientation and organization
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Prior experience in foundry pattern-making (journeyman patternmaker or some apprentice time)

Due to the nature of this role, you must be comfortable walking, standing or sitting for several consecutive hours, lifting heavy loads of up to 50lbs and must willing to work a flexible work schedule to accommodate production needs.
