About the Opportunity

Why Warriors now has a permanent part-time opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join their team based in the greater Darwin region.

In this role, your main responsibility will be to provide administrative support to the CEO and help manage a decentralised and largely cloud-based office. You will also anticipate the requirements of the CEO and support the overall mission of the organisation.

This is a work from home position, however, some work out of the office will be required, which is currently located at Noonamah (near Humpty Doo).

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Submitting expense reports;
  • Managing the CEO's schedule;
  • Completing letters, papers, and reports including proofreading;
  • Organising the CEO's calendar;
  • Organising staff and volunteer travel arrangements;
  • Preparing for Board meetings;
  • Assisting with recruitment and HR management; and
  • General administration including filing, scanning, and online document archiving.

To be successful in this role, candidates will be tertiary qualified or have previous experience in a similar position.

You will be familiar with a wide range of written document styles and formats such as policy documents and formal reports and have demonstrated experience with various computer programs including CRM programs, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based services (Google Apps), and Microsoft Office.

As this role is home-based, the successful candidate will take charge of this role and be able to work successfully in an autonomous environment and independently pursue a range of pre-defined responsibilities. As such, you will be a critical thinker with exceptional organisation and problem-solving skills.

While not essential, candidates with qualifications in business administration, communications, IT, or similar will be held in high regard.

Candidates will need to be comfortable with prayer in team meetings, teleconferences, etc, as staff and beneficiaries of the organisation often convene together in prayer.

Why Warriors is looking for a driven and intelligent candidate who has a keen interest in supporting work that makes a difference to the lives of remote Indigenous Australians.

Please note: Candidates need to hold a current manual driver's license.
