About the Organisation

Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:

  • Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
  • Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
  • Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
  • Raising funds for medical and scientific research.

The Lung Foundation Australia National Office employs about 21 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers. 

About the Opportunity

The Lung Foundation Australia now has an opportunity for an Administrative and Research Coordinator to join their national office based in Milton, Brisbane. This is a 5 month maternity leave contract, working 0.6 FTE, commencing January 2018. 

Reporting to the Research Program Development Manager, the Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting various projects and programs through providing quality administrative and logistical support. This will involve a variety of tasks and will work across the Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group (ALTG); Thoracic Alliance for Cancer Trials (TACT) and Australian Clinical Trials in IPF Network (ACTioN).

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing administrative and business management support for ALTG, TACT and ACTioN;
  • Coordinate the review and update of patient, clinical and advocacy resources across the programs, including brochures, info-graphs and websites;
  • Coordination of project activities including fundraising events and other events as required.

To be considered for this position you will have previous experience working in an administrative capacity, with a strong working knowledge of Excel. Ideally you will have prior experience working in research and/or within the health industry, as well as experience updating and managing databases, however this is not mandatory.

The Lung Foundation is looking for someone with good time management skills and strong attention to detail. You will take a flexible approach to your work and be comfortable working in a busy team environment where priorities can change quickly and you need to adapt to meet requirements.
